Ultimate Madoka/Akemi Homura

I love Madoka and Homura's entire arc in both the show and the film and I am so interested in any exploration of their relationship across all of the extreme metaphysical bullshit both of them have gone through. I'm really into the interpretation that Madoka takes on a Bodhisattva sort of role in becoming the Law of the Cycle and would love fic which explores Madoka struggling with becoming a metaphysical entity but also holding onto some of her more human feelings - or exploring Homura's alienation from Madoka's divine pov and outlook on the world. I love when Homura positions herself as a disciple or devotee of Madoka. I also love love love whatever sort of fallen angel shit Homura's got going on in the Madoka film. Could be cool to maybe play with Homura having gone to Catholic school? Art of fic with Christian sainthood and martyrdom imagery?? (the frame from the show of Homura crucified on her own clocks makes me insane) There's just a lot to play with here and I'm excited to see whatever you come up with!

For this couple, I am always down for hurt-no-comfort or anything horribly tragic. But also here for wholesome moments and fluff!

Revolutionary Girl Utena

Rose Bride!Anthy/Utena

Really into the idea implied in this fic that the Rose Bride is a sort of deity or divine figure, and I wanna see that explored more! Would be really into anything which explores how supernatural, divine, and alien Anthy is, and let us be a little scared of Anthy's divine nature. Also really into utena fic and art in general which explores interpretations of the show, and I wanna hear your thoughts on, if the Rose Bride is a deity, what is she a deity of? 
Also, Anthy and Utena's martyr4martyr thing they've got going on makes me go crazy and I would love love love anything that explored that with religious imagery
(for this ship, I'm more into stuff that's dark and tragic for both of them, or fluffy for both of them, but not so much into stuff that's toxic/unhealthy - not that Utena and Anthy don't have a lot of messiness to their relationship, y'know, but I like to see them do the work)

Rose Bride!Anthy/Kozue -

Kozue fascinates me as a character and I do not get her at all but the scene where she makes out with Anthy in the car is one of my favorite moments of Utena and I am always fascinated to know what other people think is going on there. Into the idea of Kozue being intrigued by Anthy's power as the Rose Bride. So curious to know what 17 levels of mental gymnastics have brought Kozue to the point of trying to get with Anthy.

End of the World|Akio/Touga

I've been rotating the Akio and Touga thing in my head a lot lately, and I think what gets me about their dynamic is the perfect cocktail of manipulation and abuse, but also hubris, which sets Touga up for tragedy. Love to see Touga's completely reckless and self-destructive pursuit of power. Love to see any moment where we realize how completely in over his head Touga is. Love to see Touga thinking he's winning when he is, in fact, losing. Really interested in how all these dynamics interact with a more eschatological or divine read on the End of The World. Here for stories which lean into a deal-with-the-devil kinda thing. Also, I've seen a few fics which have a kind of Ganymede framing and I like all those fics.

Ancient Greek Lore

Athena/Arachne
 
So this is kind a crackship but I genuinely perceive a lot of sexual tension between them in Ovid's version of the myth. I mean, Arachne makes a sexy tapestry about how gods can't resist making a fool of themselves to fuck mortals in order to antagonize Athena! That's hot!! Into the idea of a bratty Arachne trying to provoke Athena's ire as a flirtation. Also, there is hot spidergirl potential here, just saying.

Norse Religion and Lore

Baldr/Hel

Ah yes. My Norse Mythology rarepair OTP. I just have a lot of feelings about how these two would work as a couple, especially getting together in the underworld after Baldr dies. I really like the idea of a wholesome interpretation of this relationship, actually - the two of them coming to terms with Baldr's death, getting over their respective biases against each other that they've inherited from the family drama, and bonding over their mutual fed-upness with the whole blood feud thing their dads keep trying to drag them into. I'm interested in how the two of them would negotiate being in a stable and loving relationship, but also knowing that they're ultimately going to be on opposite sides of Ragnarok and that Hel is probably going to participate in murdering Baldr's whole family and that's a bit awkward. I love that Baldr is just genuinely such a soft boy and a cinnamon roll and I love the idea of his character contrasted with Hel's more suspicious cynicism, and Baldr's good-naturedness gradually winning over Hel. I think the interpretation of the two of them in the song Abandoned by Sassafrass is very good and it's what made me start shipping them, so check it out for inspo if you want! https://sassafrass.bandcamp.com/track/abandoned

Also, I love a spring deity/death deity sweaterboi/absolute nightmare pairing as much as the next guy, and I am very into fluff which plays with their extremely contradictory aesthetics.

iirc Baldr does canonically have a wife, Nana (at least while he's alive) - I'm here for stories which rewrite canon such that that's not a big part of their relationship after Baldr dies, but also into stories with a kind of polyamory thing going on.
